Norbert Frenzel (05.02.1956), Print Manager at infowerk AG, Nürnberg, Germany, has been involved in the printing industry for 30 years, and given the choice he would definitely choose the same career path again. Listing his main hobbies as sports and travelling, Norbert has been married to infowerk’s Financial Director for 21 years.
Why did you get into digital printing? The tremendous potential for growth and the scope of the market impressed me considerably. Additonally, I was interested in integrating a digital printing service into infowerk’s business.
In your opinion what’s so special about silver digital? silver digital is special because it can be used successfully for all digital print orders. This is partially due to the toner adhesion, which in my opinion is the best compared to all other digital papers, and also due to the ease and problem free conversion properties of the prints.
What is the best business deal that you’ve pulled off? Probably the print production of full colour operating instructions for the automobile industry, which equates to around 12 million DIN A5 pages per year. However, a special challenge has been the production of a personalised calendar at a quality comparable to offset.
What advice would you give to someone who has never experienced digital printing? That they should see for themselves, the quality, flexibility and added value provided by the process.

Who or what makes you laugh? At the moment the continuing discussion of salary increases!
