Bertram Störch (02.08.52) joined Indigo, today a division of HP, 5 years ago taking the position of Marketing Manager Germany. He studied Electronics at technical college and lists his hobbies as playing the guitar, bass guitar and learning the glockenspiel.
Why did you get into digital printing? I’ve always had a personal interest in the subject and digital technology has always played a large part in my work. I’ve followed digital printing’s development and marketing since my first exposure to an Indigo digital colour press at IPEX in 1993.
In your opinion, what’s so special about silver digital? The features that make silver digital so good are its ease of use and good runnability. Additionally, the variety of surfaces and grades provided by the range is excellent. This is why we, and our most successful hp indigo clients, use silver digital in Germany and the UK.
3What advice would you give to someone who has never experienced digital printing before? Digital printing cannot be seen as a straight replacement for traditional printing methods, it offers so much more. Digital workflow allows the inclusion of an ever-increasing amount of variable information from a variety of sources. As it’s possible to supply exactly what the client wants, digital printing’s popularity and importance continues to improve.
What would be your dream job, if you could choose anything? I would like to be a musician in a big orchestra.
What’s your greatest ambition? To create the most positive life experience possible, by combining hard work with the pleasant social aspects of life.
What’s your greatest luxury in life? A quiet moment enjoying a glass of red wine, whilst listening to relaxing music.
Do you have any hidden talents? I am fairly creative and musical, for example I learnt to play a piece of music on the glockenspiel within a couple of days.
