Papers & technology
Digital printing refers to various different printing systems that use digital data fed directly into the printing press without an intermediate processing step e.g. plates, films etc. which is the case with offset and other commercial processes. Main benefits include the ability to print one copy (or very short runs), and also to vary the content of each page and personalise items such as direct mailers.

In general, digital printing can be divided into two major categories, liquid (electroInk®) or dry toner based and inkjet based printing technology.
