M-real Digital imaging announces the launch of the ‘silver’ paper range

M-real, Europe’s top fine paper producer announces a major change to its digital papers range. The new look ‘silver’ paper range comprises 27 papers covering the complete digital printing spectrum from Indigo and Xeikon presses, to laser printer/copiers, and large format and desktop professional inkjet printers.

M-real Digital imaging’s Marketing Manager, Dr Helga Zollner-Croll, comments, “The acquisition by M-real of Zanders provided us a with a range of products, which, whilst solving the needs of the digital printing industry, was not easily recognised as a cohesive brand. By consolidating the range and relaunching it under the silver name, we have created a more focused range of products which will provide the reassurance needed by digital printers who demand a quality product.”

M-real Digital imaging will be using Europe’s largest sales network, M-real alliance, combined with the Map Merchant Group, to ensure the range is available word-wide. From September this year, the range will be sold through a network of specialists alongside other M-real products. The new brand is further supported by an extensive range of marketing and sales collateral such as product guides, swatches and brochures.

Following a switch in production from the Silverdalen mill, the silver paper range of the fully coated qualities is now produced at Zanders’ Gohrsmühle mill, which is certified to the ISO 9000 quality management system. The uncoated and light coated products are produced at the Pont Sainte Maxence SA mill in France. The French production site also specialises in the conversion of digital reels for Xeikon technology. The transfer of production from Sweden to Germany, combined with the recent investment in R&D has allowed several improvements to be made across the entire range, guaranteeing higher whiteness and opacity, improved formation and smoothness, runability and printability than ever before, ensuring that existing customers will find either replacements or improved products.
